Pradosh Vrat Pooja is a ritual that is accomplished by observing a fast for the whole day. Pradosh Vrat also known as Pradosh is basically observed to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva and his consort Goddess Parvati. This vrat or fasting is observed on the 13th day or Trayodashi of the Hindu months. It can be either on Shukla Paksha or it can be on Krishna Paksha. There are different types of Pradosh Vrat Pooja.
These can be identified as Soma Pradosham or Chandra Pradosham which is held on Monday, Bhauma Pradosham which occurs on Tuesday, and Shani Pradosham which is on Saturday. As you perform Pradosh Vrat Pooja, you are blessed with good health, and your wishes come true. The person who worships Pradosh Vrat gets freedom from disease and sources of prosperity. The aim is to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, which in itself is a matter of attaining great power to the soul.
